Environment of Care Rounds

Environment of Care (EOC) rounds help maintain facility safety through regular inspections.

Overview

EOC rounds involve:

  1. Following a route of inspection locations
  2. Scanning QR codes at each location
  3. Completing checklists
  4. Documenting issues
  5. Generating work orders for problems found

Starting a Round

Rounds Screen

  1. Navigate to Rounds tab
  2. See available routes for your unit
  3. Tap a route to begin
  4. Follow locations in order

At Each Location

Scanning

  1. Tap Scan when you arrive
  2. Point camera at the QR code
  3. Wait for confirmation

The QR scan identifies the location and begins the inspection.

Checklist

Complete the inspection checklist:

  • Items specific to the location type
  • Pass / Fail / N/A for each item
  • Add notes for context

Documenting Issues

If you find a problem:

  1. Tap Report Issue
  2. Select severity:
    • Critical — Immediate fix required
    • Standard — Work order generated
    • Cosmetic — Low-priority maintenance
  3. Add description
  4. Tap Submit

Work Orders

Issues automatically generate work orders:

  • Assigned to Facilities Maintenance
  • Include description from inspection
  • Severity determines priority
  • Track resolution status

Work Order Status

Viewing Work Orders

  1. From Rounds tab, tap Work Orders
  2. Filter by status
  3. Tap a work order for details

Follow-Up Verification

Some work orders require follow-up:

  1. Facilities marks work as resolved
  2. Work order moves to "Resolved"
  3. On next round, verify the issue is resolved
  4. Tap Verify or Reopen

Routes

Routes define inspection paths:

  • Ordered list of locations
  • Specific to unit or area
  • Can have frequency requirements (per shift, daily, weekly)

Route Compliance

The Rounds tab shows:

  • Routes due today
  • Completed rounds
  • Overdue routes

Location Types

Common inspection location types:

QR Code Management

IT administrators manage QR codes:

  1. Navigate to ManagementEOC
  2. Add new locations with details and location type
  3. Generate QR codes and copy them for printing
  4. Organize locations into routes with configurable round frequency
