Sensor System Integration
Ward integrates with BLE wristband sensor systems to provide automatic proximity verification, fall detection, elopement prevention, and wristband health monitoring.
Supported Configurations
Ward Sensor Kit
The recommended approach for most facilities. Includes:
- Sensor Hub - Raspberry Pi 4 with zero-touch setup, auto-updates, and local web admin UI
- Patient Wristbands - BLE wristbands (Minew B7) for proximity, fall detection, and elopement
- Fixed BLE Receivers - Minew MG4 BLE gateways at exit points for elopement detection, with optional room doorway receivers for room-level features
Contact Ward sales for sensor kit pricing and installation.
Enterprise RTLS Integration
For facilities with existing Real-Time Location Systems, Ward can integrate with your current infrastructure. Supported through custom integration projects.
Contact your Ward representative to discuss RTLS integration requirements.
Setup Process
Ward Sensor Kit
- Network preparation - Ensure sensor hub can reach Ward's cloud (outbound HTTPS)
- Physical installation - Power the hub, mount BLE receivers at exits (and optionally at room doorways)
- Registration - Register devices in Ward at Settings > Devices
- Wristband assignment - Assign wristbands to patients from patient detail screen
- Testing - Verify proximity detection and fall alerts are working
Detailed installation instructions are provided with the sensor kit.
Enterprise RTLS
Custom integration projects typically involve:
- Discovery - Review your current RTLS capabilities
- Design - Define data mapping and integration approach
- Implementation - Ward engineering configures the integration
- Testing - Validate in your environment
- Go-live - Enable for production use
Timeline and scope vary based on your RTLS vendor and configuration.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Hub shows offline | Check network connectivity and power |
| Proximity not detecting | Verify patient has wristband assigned and staff phone has BLE enabled |
| Wristband battery low | Replace or charge wristband |
| False fall alerts | Adjust fall detection sensitivity on hub |
